Well, the silly season
is at its height and the Dear Leader is away sunning himself in
the Tuscan countryside. Back at home, dismissed BBC boss Greg
Dyke fires a Parthian shot across Blair's absent bows in his serialised
memoirs. He said Tony Blair had "unleashed the dogs"
after the report found the BBC had been wrong to claim the Government
"sexed up" its dossier on Iraq's weapons. Mr Dyke also
accused Mr Blair of reneging on a deal that no heads should roll
at the corporation. The journalist who started all the fuss, Andrew
Gilligan, also adds his penn'orth.
