The government-commissioned
Tomlinson Report with proposals for secondary education appears.
He calls for an integrated schooling system with much more accent
to be placed on vocational training for non-academic students,
among other things. Briefings from Charles Clarke, Education Secretary,
seem to suggest, if perhaps not wrecking the whole thing, then
at least some reluctance to endorse the proposals in full. Blair
seems similarly queasy. Only time will tell.
