Dubya concludes his European
tour with a summit meeting with Vladimir Putin in Bratislava.
Bush tries to persuade the reluctant ex-KGB man that breathing
the crisp clean air on the moral high ground of democracy is the
way forward for the Russian Federation, rather than a retreat
into old soviet style authoritarianism. Whether it's Iraq, Afghanistan
or Chechnya, the casual observer might conclude that the body
count is pretty unacceptable under either system. What price democracy?
