Home Secretary John Reid announces that the threat level at Britain's
airports is now merely "severe" (down from "critical")
after the alleged attempts to blow up aircraft last week. The
information is "intelligence-based". He also denies
that these terrorist activities are connected to Britain's foreign
policy in the middle east. I wonder where this intelligence is
coming from. Is the Home Office "fit for purpose" yet?
