Lord Browne, CEO of BP,
is forced to resign over a white lie he told in a legal deposition
towards an injuction against the Mail on Sunday, in an attempt
to prevent them printing salacious details of a gay affair. It
all comes out and he has to go, reputation in tatters. His long
tenure at BP is praised, but recent decisions questioned. A successor
has already been appointed and has been in waiting for some time.
There is even a suggestion that Inspector Knacker may want to
feel his collar over the issue. Any parallels come to mind?
