The low regard for the Iraq and Afghanistan escapades in the minds of the British public has led to soldiers being verbally abused on the streets of Britain, if they are seen in uniform. The people who sent them over the top, meanwhile, remain in place and relatively unscathed. Back-straightening words are uttered from the political community encouraging all squaddies to wear their uniform with pride, and for the shameful few naysayers to keep their disrespectful words to themselves. That should turn public opinion around.
